Zoe {Atlanta Child Photography}

I have had two sessions this morning and will be busy editing today ~

Here are a couple from cute little Zoe session:DIsn’t she precious!

I <3 Yarn {Atlanta Area Photography}

So I admit it, I love yarn. I can spend hours looking and touching everything in my local fine yarn shop. I enjoy knitting and the process of see the yarn take shape into a hat or scarf is fascinating to me. This is one of those place I general avoid taking my hubby because he just doesn’t understand why I want hand spun wool. Can’t we just go to Michael’s or JoAnn’s and get something for $2.50? Answer is easy – nope. Here is what I am going to work with today ~ this is for Erin’s baby’s first photoshoot next month ~

2 Pictures ~ 2 Stories {Atlanta Area Photographer}

My front porch is like a magnet for birds to build their nests. I had 8 birds nest this year ~ and while you may be thinking “oh sweet” , they make a terrible mess. But it is worth it, because each new nest discovery brings a smile to Li Li’s face. Well, we had a terrible storm last night and this nest had been built in a fern that toppled over. Thus, this morning we found this little guy who never hatched. Everyone else is gone and he was left behind. Now he will be forever remembered ~

I took this image for my daughter’s new room, but there is another purpose in taking this photograph.  It is a Chinese custom to give a 100 wishes quilt to their new born children.  While I love the tradition, I just didn’t see myself completing this project.  I now have 100 teapots given to my daughter and I am doing what I do best, photographing them and creating a book that is her 100 wishes.  It is an interesting project that is almost 4 years in the making and has made me explore the acquaintances and friendship made along the way, and as I read the wishes, what they mean today.

2010 Scott Kelby Photowalk {Atlanta Area Photographer}

WoW! What an amazing Photowalk we had in Atlanta at Piedmont Park! I was so thrilled to meet all of you! Eric ~ Hats off to you! I have done all three SK Photowalks and this was the best organized that I have done:DHonestly ~ I can’t wait to see every one’s work! I am especially excited to see that there are still some film shooters out there, and Brad~ wonderful meeting you and I LOVED you DIY pin-hole camera! I can’t wait to see how they turned out. I am so glad that everyone loved Li Li and she will be so excited to see all the pictures that everyone took! My favorite comment of the day was at the park when a woman came up and asked if she was a celebrity with all you talk her picture! Oh the paparazzi! I have so much to edit and upload, but I wanted to share a couple of my “so far” favorites.

My Little Lawyer {Atlanta Child Photography}

I was trying to come up with something that had a little bit of a Gap ad feel to it for the studio, had a nice back to school feel, and would also convert well to black and white. I love the idea of kids standing on a big stack of books, so I decided to take a bunch of Dan’s old law school books and stack them and use them as props. Li Li and I had so much fun working on this together and I was amazed at how quick she is starting to work with me. This is the first time that I have really felt like the vintage trunk worked with my style of photography.

Don’t forget to book your back to school session by Aug 1, 2010.

The dress is from Growing Snowflowers and this is Li Li’s favorite new brand! Check it out at Growing Snowflowers and on Etsy.com
