My friend Nancy is a breast cancer survivor. I found out that she had been diagnosed, when she broke down two years ago in my studio while we were proofing her family images. That experience alone had a huge impact on me. At the time she had just been diagnosed and her girls didn’t even know. Her experience empowered her and her daughters to actions & today she raised $885 at her Lemonade Stand. This is the second year that they have done the lemonade stand, and this year the money they raise is going to help a family in their school travel to NYC for treatment. This touched me, as I know first hand the financial strain that traveling out of state to get medical treatment can have on a family. So today, I went and took some images of their lemonade stand, and just be inspired by true people helping people. My friend Nancy is such and inspiration to me.
Today would not have been completely pulled off without the help of a lot of people {namely Kelly
} and to every one who contributed goodie, like some compost cookies! Don’t let the name fool you – they looked scrumptious!
If you live in the East Cobb area and would like to know more about the lemonade stand or make a donation to help, please contact me at deblaydenphotography@gmail.com. The lemonade stand will open at 9 a.m. on July 28 and go until noon! Everything is for a donation and you won’t be disapointed!
